At the 66th we currently have a small team of section leaders who look after all the sections plus a small Executive committee who ensure that the group meets its obligations as a charity and has sufficient funds for its activities. There are currently five leaders running three sections, providing 51/2 hours of Scouting every week during term time plus running multiple camps per year.
We urgently need a new Two Cub Leader and two Scout Leaders.
No previous experience is necessary. There's plenty of training opportunities and the incumbent leaders will be staying for a little while longer to enable a smooth handover. The more volunteers we have the better we can spread the workload.
There are a number of different role options to suit the time you are able to give so we are not asking you to give up every Monday, Wednesday or Thursday evening (though if you could that would be great). For example our current Beaver leaders are operating a job sharing arrangement.
Some of you will already be helping on parent rotas and taking on a more formal role need not necessarily require you to give any more of your time for meeting nights.
So I urge you to please contact myself or one of the section leaders have an informal discussion about potential roles and how you can help.
You don’t have to be a parent of a Beaver, Cub or Scout to be a leader or on the executive committee, so if you know of anyone else in the village, who you think might be able to help as a leader, then I would be grateful if you would direct them to this website or let me have their contact details.
