Badges are used in Scouting to recognise young people's achievements and encourage them to learn new skills.
The Chief Scouts awards celebrate the highest level of achievement that young people can gain in their section.
We aim to provide activities during our meeting nights and at camps and other activities throughout the year to enable all our Cubs to be able to achieve the Chief Scouts Silver Award.
To achieve the Chief Scouts Silver Award Cubs must gain each of the Challenge Awards plus six Activity badges or Staged Activity badges.
The Majority of the Challenge Badges are completed as part of our meeting night activities or at the various camps throughout the year. Where some elements of the badges can be completed at home we've created Home Packs () for those badges.
Scottish Thistle Award
The Scottish Thistle Award is a special challenge badge for Cubs in Scotland. It does not count towards the Chief Scout Award
Whilst some activity badges are worked on at various times of the year as part of our Pack activities, e.g., Athletics, Backwoods Cooking and Fire Safety, many activity badges can be worked on at home. Where this is the case we've created Home Packs () for those badges.
Home Packs are provided as pdf files which can be downloaded, printed and filled in.
Alternatively a downloaded activity pack can be opened in MS Word and completed electronically (right click on the downloaded file and select open with -> Word).
